Your trip begins Saigon, ends Hanoi

Days 1 - 4 | Ho Chi Minh City, Cai Be, Can Tho

In Saigon you stroll along historic boulevards and visit some of the city’s most famous sites. Lose yourself in the maze of Saigon's central market and glimpse daily life of modern metropolis Saigon. Spend your time cruise the sampan to discover the lush beauty of the Mekong Delta as you wind your way down narrow canals and wandering the shady paths of the Mekong Delta, past fruit orchards, paddy fields and sleepy villages. Visit a floating market, where vendors display the delta's bounty of fruits and vegetables on their boats.

Days 5 - 6 | Hue

Fly to Hue, the former capital of Vietnam and home to the Forbidden City and Imperial Citadel. In Hue, we stroll past ponds covered with deep pink lotus buds, mossy statues and red lacquered pavilions in the palaces and inhale the haunting scent of frangipane blossoms in the riverside garden tombs built for Vietnam's last emperors.

Days 7 - 8 | Hoi An

Travel south over the spectacular Hai Van Pass, through stunning rural and coastal scenery to the picturesque town of Hoi An. Here you wander through the picturesque streets of this 16th century trading port, where the buildings bear traces of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and French architectural styles, explore the ruins of My Son statuary, the religious center of the Champa Kingdom, which dated back to 2nd century.

Days 9 - 10 | Hanoi

We fly to Hanoi, the truly Asian Capital city. Browse through the silversmith stalls that line “Silver Street”, one of dozens of traditional guild streets that make up Hanoi’s thousand-year-old Old Quarter, join Buddhist monks for prayers in a serene lakeside pagoda and attend unique water puppets performance.

Days 11 - 12 | Sapa

In Sapa we discover the rugged highlands of Vietnam's far north lies one of Asia's best kept secrets - Sapa - an idyllic valley hidden away from the modern world, where life beats to a rhythm that has not changed for hundreds of years. Marvel at the diverse clothing styles of the various ethnic people shopping in Sapa's colorful market. Trek to outlying Hmong, Red Dao and Giay villages to learn about these groups' distinctive fabric dyeing, weaving and embroidery techniques and the symbolism of their dress.

Days 13 -16 | Hanoi, Halong, Departure

On arrival in Hanoi award yourselves with a relaxing day. Next day travel to Halong Bay where you cruise among the thousands of limestone islands, made famous in the film Indochina. Last day you will be free at leisure and perhaps shop for last-minute presents in Hanoi's funky craft shops then transfer to Noi Bai airport for your departure.
